We had sleet and freezing rain overnight. Fortunately the ice was not very thick and by dawn the temperature rose so it’s merely raining now.
The crows flew over my house later than usual this morning. I wonder if the ice affected their roost.
The trees were beautiful before the rain began.
I did a google search on grackles and your post from last november popped up regarding thousands of grackles flying past your location…i drive 150 miles/day in my commute through the panhandle of texas and everday, this time of year, my carpooler and i track how long the line of grackles is that we see (in the same area) daily…today the line was 7 miles long…probably longer considering we were traveling the opposite direction they were flying…
Do you know anything about this phenomenon, or would you know who would? I didn’t notice where you are blogging from, but really don’t know where to start. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed!!
Thanks for any help,
JB
