The young peregrines at the Cathedral of Learning will be banded on Tuesday morning, May 18.
The best – and only – time that PixController can perform on-site maintenance on the streaming webcam is when the young are away from the nest. So the Cathedral of Learning broadcast will be down during the banding. When the camera comes back up the nestlings will be back in the nest with their new “bracelets.”
For information on peregrine banding, see the Banding FAQ.
Does it seem that one of those nestlings is much more curious than the others? Seems like one is peering over the edge of the box more than the others, even stretching his (her?) wings more lately. I’m putting bets on this one being the first to fledge!
Got to see them take babies & Dorothy. Brave soul out there doing it. Haven’t left yet for dr. appt. I get these wonderful presents of glimpses into the “wild world”. We have to keep it that way & safe & clean & healthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes??????
I just saw the chicks being put back into their nest-nice of them to clean it up while they were gone. The chicks seem a little hyper after all that excitement. So what did Dorothy have-how many boys & how many girls?
