… on my favorite trails at Acadia National Park in Maine.
This is the view from the top of Cadillac Mountain, 1,530 feet above sea level.
It’s an easy (long) climb from north or south but there’s an ice cream reward at the summit shop.
How civilized!

beautiful! enjoy your hike, kate!
Very nice. I’m headed there in October to do some hiking and photos. Any recomendations on lodging in or around the park?
We always stay at the Harbourside Inn, Northeast Harbor, Maine, 207-276-3272 (since 1983!). I don’t know if they’re open in October, so give them a call.
That’s where we went for our honeymoon! We saw a bald eagle sitting on a rock!
Thanks !! Hope you have a great time.
It is a beautiful location. No wonder it is one of your favorite hiking trails. Enjoy the hike and the ice cream reward.
Looks magnificent ! How long does it take to climb?
There are 4 routes to the summit: north, south, east & west, plus variations at the lower levels. The easiest (north) is 2.2 miles but it’s all uphill so it takes longer than you expect.
