If you haven’t been to The Waterfront to see the great horned owl nest on the Homestead Grays Bridge, go soon! The owlet is growing fast — as shown in these photos by Dana Nesiti on Friday, April 15.
The best viewing area is at the Three Rivers Heritage bike Trail to the right of the Red Robin restaurant at The Waterfront (175 E Waterfront Dr, Homestead, PA 15120).
Don’t miss your chance to see the owlet before he leaves the nest.
Thanks to Dana for sharing his photos. See Dana’s great photos of the Hays bald eagles at his Eagles of Hays PA Facebook page.

Today I went to see if the Schenley owls were still on the nest site but it appears as though they are flegded and gone.
Yes, the Schenley owls have been gone for a while.
Where was the nest?
The Schenley owl nest was under the Anderson Bridge: http://www.birdsoutsidemywindow.org/2016/04/04/schenley-owl-nest-found/
Thank you for all the updates throughout our area! I continue to follow the peregrines @ Pitt & look out for updates on the owls! & of course our Eagles! Dana’s pics are always amazing! I’m out of town due to our daughter’s chronic Lyme treatment from a tick bite 3 yrs ago on Martha’s Vineyard…so I’m in Arizona thru the end of May! Thank you for all the info that helps me stay in the loop during this awful time! I find happiness in our feathered relatives!!!
In reply to Maureen Butor:
Hi- I saw your post about the dr in Az that your daughter sees. Who is the Dr? How is your daughter? I hope she is well and improving. My brother has been fighting Lyme for 4+ years. It breaks my heart that he is not able to be tre father he could be for my niece and nephew. He lives in AZ so I would greatly appreciate your reply. Thank you in advance!
Summer, Maureen posted her comment a year ago so it’s likely she will not see your questions.
