The Hays bald eagle cam has been boring since the juveniles fledged but visitors to the nearby bike trail can sometimes catch a glimpse of the family.
Last weekend Mat Williams captured this video of the juveniles testing out their flying skills. Enjoy!

I was there Sat. evening and got to witness this in person with a small group of friends. What a special gift to now see it on vid. To see them soaring high above and learning there moves was incredible!! Thank you Matt!!
wow! thanks, Matt for capturing and Kate for sharing!!!
Fantastic video !
I was lucky enough to see them fly at the Waterfront too! Having this video to watch is the best thing ever.
Hooray for the eaglets!!
I saw a small hawk today with the distinctive “black eye” wing patches of a rough-legged hawk. It also had a dark tip to the tail. However, it is really the wrong time of year for a rough-legged hawk and the hawk was pretty slim, and much smaller than a red tail. Does anyone know what I saw?
Bri, perhaps you saw a Coopers hawk
Beautiful video-first time I smiled today.
Thanks for video. To be young and carefree.
