13 February 2021
For the past 10 days Ecco has been present at the Cathedral of Learning peregrine nest every day, his longest streak since he first arrived 12 months ago. The streak began on 4 February and continued today when he bowed with Morela at 7:30am this morning.
The photos below, one per day, show what Ecco’s been up to. As a special treat he came in for a closeup (above) when he jumped up to the pillar below the snapshot camera on 8 February.
All of the photos are from the National Aviary falconcam at the Cathedral of Learning. Click here and scroll down to watch.
Terzo was last seen at the nest on 5 February. Does Ecco’s every day presence mean Terzo is gone? We’ll have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, watch for Morela on camera. She’s been preoccupied. I wonder why.

Kate, if it plays out as last season, as soon as you say Terzo may be gone he will reappear! Thanks for the updates
You’re right, Liz. It does tend to work that way.
Well, he is certainly a handsome young man! His super white chest reminds me of Beauty. I am hoping for a successful season as we all are.
Who is at the nest around 2:40 today? I don’t see the pink tinges of Morela and the lores look too bright yellow/gold for her. I guess it could be Ecco but I can’t see the legs to see if there are bands or not.
Mary Ann, you are right that the bird was not peachy enough to be Morela. A motion detection snapshot showed it to be Ecco.
