Throw Back Thursday (TBT):
This is the month: Listen before dawn on a calm or north-wind night and you’ll hear a sound like spring peepers passing overhead. Swainson’s thrushes are calling to each other as they migrate in the dark!
Read more about their call in this blog post from September 2009. Click here to listen.

Thanks for sharing this…I thought I might have heard the sound this morning! Our wood thrushes have been gone almost a month now…I needed a thrush fix; I just adore them. So much so, they inspired me to give up coffee all together this past year, in hopes of helping to preserve their winter habitat.
