It looked like Dorothy wasn’t sitting on the egg for a good while. Does she leave it out to dry off or harden completely before sitting on it? (Not sure what condition an egg is in right after it’s laid….if I ever get chickens like I’ve been threatening to, I guess I’ll find out!)
I am glad she will get some rest; will need alot energy to feed the little ones even with 2 parents. But as an old lady myself more power to her. Faith.
Wow! This is such a miracle. Prayers for Dorothy, E2 and that the eggs are viable. It’s going to be so interesting to see what goes on. History in the making? Thanks for sharing Kate. 🙂
Wow, wow, wow, wow!
She can take a nice long nap!! I mean, this has got to be like having babies at 50 or perhaps 60 right?
Kathy, yes, quite a strain at her age.
I can’t say it enough times…….AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
I am in awe of this wonderful peregrine! Praying that the eggs hatch with beautiful fluffballs for Dorothy and E2!

Mary Ann, yes she stays off the egg until it dries.

It’s a real treat to see these photos, especially as the camera on the nest doesn’t seem to be working. Thanks so much!
My bad — the webcam is working perfectly now!
